Participants Give Summit High Marks

Sixteen of the 37 Healthy Vision 2010 Health Care Summit participants completed the follow-up survey. Here are some of the key findings of the survey:

  • Respondents were asked to rank (from 0 to 3) how promising they believe each of these “fertile fields” is for stakeholders to eventually achieve consensus for a legislative platform. Mean responses were:
    • 2.31 – healthy lifestyles and prevention
    • 2.25 – medical homelessness, inappropriate ER use, uninsurance
    • 2.00 – health information technology
    • 1.88 – end-of-life care
  • All of the respondents either strongly agreed (70%) or agreed (30%) that they would definitely participate in a follow-up meeting.
  • Respondents agreed (3.38 on a scale of 0 to 4), that follow-up meetings should focus more on specific issues.
  • There was lack of agreement on whether follow-up meetings should be larger, and there was strong opposition to making the follow-up meetings longer than six hours.
